Interestingly enough, looking at my bike time and looking at the first loop versus the second loop, my second loop average was actually faster than my first.
1st loop: 23.23 mph average
2nd loop: 24.29 mph average
Maybe it's the excitement of having more people on the course to ride with (or more people to impress with my oh so awesomely amazing cycling skills.....), but I rode faster with more people on the course.
Also, if you sort the results by bike times and disregard those who apparently cannot count to 2 laps, some of the fastest bike splits were turned in by age groupers. There are two M25-29 age groupers (one of whom is a member of the club) who had top 10 bike splits and I know they went off in the very middle of the waves. That definitely surprises me as I expected later waves to show generally slower bike times given course crowding.
Or maybe it was simply because you're a beast. I don't know, shoot.
