I'm looking to ride 80-90 miles on Saturday, 5/2. I'd like to ride in moderately flat area with a few hills, not Seneca/Potomac/or Pooleseville -- somewhere else. Anyone up for a 80-90 mile ride? Avg pace around 17 mph.
STEP AWAY FROM THE RED BULL...lol. I am actually going to be out of town this weekend, but will be up for the next go around.
Now we're talking! I'd be up for riding 80-90 at 17-19 mph. Count me in.
I'm heading out to Cambridge for a century ride. Planning to leave the DC area by 5:30am-ish. They also have 37 and 56 (the Eagleman course). I think they still have registration open. Here is the site.
I'd be interested in an 80-90 mile ride on Sat. at about 17 mph, but the wheels down or DC area departure time would have to be 9:30 a.m. or later for me.
What pace are you riding? If it's between 17-19, I may sign up. Sounds like a well organized ride.
Pace? Anywhere between fast and slow. Just kidding because I don't have a bike computer yet. May be a good time to get one.
I was thinking of doing a Potomac Pedaler's ride called Calvert County Base Builder starting 2 miles east of Upper Marlboro @ 9:00 am. It heads south toward Prince Frederick via Croom and the Patuxent River Bridge at Benedict or via Chesapeake Beach and Breezy Point. The Chesapeake Beach/Breezy Point area has a nice boardwalk area where we can stop for a break.
Cambridge MD is kind of far from DC. But, it's great for all the Eagleman/IMFL people.
The ride starts at Wayson's Corner Park & Ride -
From I-95 Exit 11-A take Pennsylvania Avenue (Md 4) 10 miles past Upper Marlboro to Wayson's Corner, exit Md 408.
Left at the end of exit ramp to Waysons Corner.
Bear right at the light and proceed to the park and ride on the right.
Ride clips in at 9:00 am. If raining at ride start, we will attempt to ride 12 Noon instead.
50 or 80 mile option. Pls post or e-mail me if you are in.
