DC Tri swims at Catholic University are back. Cost is $3/person and we've got the pool on Mon/Wed evenings, 6:30-8:00, beginning March 23.
All levels are welcome. We've got full use of the 6-lane pool and you will be placed in a lane according to your swim speed and ability.
That's great news. Thanks for putting this together and see you all there!
Great work getting this back up Travis.
Now do you think you could do anything about making swimming more fun? Also maybe if whatever lane the club president swam in was designated swimming lane 1 and not the "slow lane" people might be more inclined to show up....just relaying what I have heard from other club members.
Awesome, Travis! Thanks a lot for getting this going.
I'm not sure if there's any help Joe-
It was my experience that no matter what I called it, the prez's lane was ALWAYS the slow lane
THIS A FANTASTIC NEWS, TRAVIS!!! Thanks so much for working this! Can't wait to stop pretending that I "regularly" make it to Eastern Market in the am...:)
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much Travis. I can't wait. And quit calling your lane the slow lane, I swim in your lane too and I don't think we do too bad :)
This is definitely fantastic news. Thank you for setting this up again.
Awesome! With 6 lanes, almost everyone can swim with a President (or Past President)!
Are we doing punch cards again?
I am so excited. I thought one of the benefits of working at CUA would be use of the pool, but the open swim hours are really inconvenient. This will be great.
I also wanted to point out that these swims won't start until MARCH 23.
Wanted to pass the word so that no one will show up next week.
No punch cards this time, I don't think. Just bring $3 to each swim and CUA will collect it there.
Have a good weekend!
Do we need to be USMS members?
Travis, correct me if I am wrong, but I think you only need to be either a USAT or USMS member.
DON'T FORGET THAT THESE PRACTICES START TOMORROW, MARCH 23 AT 6:30.
These practices are great and should not be missed. Remember to bring your $3.00 for the session.
So I have not been this year but was planning on it tonight. Is it still true that the club president has their own lane?
I am now certain that everyone in the NTP has swam further then I have this year (~3200 yds) and Placid is the same day as NJ.
The CUA swim is great! You should defnitely give it a try Joe. Thanks to all for organizing and managing.
Joe, you can have my lane preference (lane 6). Not sure how much I'll be able to swim after this flu bug, but I am planning the workout for tonight.
Hmmm -- swim in the wake of Hugh and his flu bug or swim with the slow lane? Not sure which way I'll go on that one ;^'
Just to give everyone a heads up that Monday, April 13th, the CUA pool is closed (due to Easter Weekend). Instead, we will be swimming on Tuesday, the 14th at 6:30pm.
Does anyone have directions for how to get the pool from the CUA metro stop?
