Hey DC Tri,
Anyone racing the Half-Marathon next Saturday? I'll be in Corral #5 (although I may move it back to Corral #6 because I haven't been training enough).
Phil glad your in Half. I'm in Coral #7 as its my first Half Marathon . Are you going to Hawk and Dove after??
Bib # 3027
Full - Coral #6 - Bib #2432
So I guess I should train or something. Maybe check out the course map and all and figure out where I'm running...
I signed up for the full and was unsuccessful in dropping down to the half.
We'll see how this goes...
See you all in Corral #5
Coral #4 Bib#6967 for the half. Have a good race, it will be interesting to see what weather we get this year.
How in the heck do we know what coal we are in. I got my number
I'm running the half, but how did you guys get your bib#'s and coral #s already???
I go mine via an email I received this morning from the race organizers, but you can go to the web site itself and get it.
Corral 8, as in way way far back. by the time we start, i'm sure the finishers will be rolling in!
I got an e-mail this morning--it says it's from "Start Corral assignment."
Check your e-mail.
Corral #4 and it's my first time running a half. Hope to stay with my corral group to the end.
I'm in for the half, plus however far it is to brunch...
#5978, Corral 3
MM, are you going to do the full after all?
brunch??? Where's brunch? That might make me run faster. Post deets!
Of being last.
Not like BYB last -- which was pleasant and even kinda comical
But more like GW Birthday Marathon last
Where there's a pick up truck creeping behind you for the last ten miles picking up cones, the water stations are gone, timing mats are nowhere to be found and there's no love for the slow people at the finish line.
MM: Look up the finish times for last year, and see how "last" you'll be.
Lou Wilson came in first in his age group, with a time of 5:55!!!
That's not comforting!!!
Besides, I don't wanna be running thru the streets of DC for six hours.
Race officials told me to check in at the expo, see if there are any slots of the half. I'm crossing my fingers.
JN -- since you've graciously offered to pick up my bib, do you think you can charm the pants-err half marathon bib-off one of the race officials??
My pleasure. And you can always make an executive decision at mile 13... or mile 15 when you get near Hawk and Dove and start to smell bacon. Not that I would ever advocate that.
Jeanne, the "runch" convo is happening here: http://www.dctriclub.org/forum/messages.cfm?tid=D9ACB609-9945-B803-A2BD98946712AFBE&&page=1
I'm in for the Full - first full marathon since high school. Oh boy . . .
I'm bib number 983 and will likely move to one of the later corrals (currently in the 9:06-10:00 pace corral) . . . yup, I'm a tortoise.
Sadly, will likely skip brunch afterwards as my folks and Shane's folks are in town that weekend. :)
Good luck to everyone!!!
Coral 3 # 4602
