Pool is OPEN.

Rumor has it that a trip to Colonel Brook's Tavern will follow. We're celebrating ironmen and ironwomen, Eagle people, bay swimmers, birthdays, the heat.... whatever you have to celebrate.

So come out, swim and then hang with friends. Maybe it'll be a shorter workout out tonight so we can be quicker to put a beer in our hand?

Those rumors about going to Colonel Brooks are true. Plus, it's my off-season now.

Hi there,

Mind if I ask a newbie question(s)? I often look at these workouts and don't know what about half of it means. I'll give it a go, but can you define what I am unclear on? Many thanks, Chloe

kick - kicking with a kick board
pull - pulling with a pull buoy
straight - ??
stretch - ??
50 stroke/50 free - does this mean 50m any stroke you choose and 50m freestyle?
drill - does this mean you simply do any drill you like/need?
swim - regular old freestyle during recovery?

Thanks!

Yes.
Yes.
Straight--Normal swim, without a buoy or kickboard.
Stretch--Extend your stroke fully, perhaps gliding for a bit at the extension.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.

P.S. Amanda forgot this hot-weather drill:
After finishing set, jump out of pool, to practice leaving water in case of thunder...

Chloe, you should be okay. If you plan to show up on Wednesday, the person who plans those workouts has an odd sense of humor and feels like everyone is a fish in the water.
