Are you looking interesting in finding other multi-sport athletes who swim, bike, or run at a moderate or slower pace? If so, consider joining DC Triathlon Club's Moderate and Reduced Speed Pace group!
We aim to help members find others with similar paces, training goals, and/or workout schedules, to facilitate training/racing activities, and to provide a supportive venue. This includes those who run 10 minutes per mile or slower (including those who need to run/walk), bike on average 16 mph or below on flats (including those who struggle with hill climbing or are intimidated by group rides), and swimmers who consistently swim at a pace of greater than 1 minute per 50 yards.
Join the DC Tri Club Saturday Ride - Beginning in June and every first Saturday of the month during the summer, the club’s Saturday ride will have a no-drop option for riders. This ride will specifically have a sweeper and this ride will support paces from 13-17 mph (flats). For those who have never done this ride, here is a great option to become familiar with the route and to join others of similar paces.
Dates: June 4, July 2, August 6, and September 3
Start Time: 7:30 AM. You need to be ready to ride no later than 7:30. We join those coming up from Capitol Hill as they roll by.
Start Location: Georgetown at Wisconsin and M NW
Pace: 13-17 mph on flat. Slower on hills.
Course: No Drop from Georgetown to BP Station and back (roughly 25-30 miles). Will regroup at BP station before returning back to DC . If you decide to keep going beyond BP, you can but there will no longer be a sweeper
Requirement: Comfortable with riding in traffic.
Leaders: If you would like to assist in this ride as well, please contact email@example.com.
For more general information about the entire Saturday ride, see the thread and map below. Some information in the thread is different than this announcement, and the map includes all distances.

Monthly Mod2Slow Sunday Bike Rides -4th Sunday of Each Month
We are starting a monthly bike ride for paces from 17mph and below. Each month, we will need a leader plus additional helpers to provide an opportunity to have a no drop ride and riders of varying paces. We are asking for volunteers to either be a lead for a particular month or to sign up to provide additional assistance for the lead. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the table provided in this link. As you know, we are trying to promote more accessibility to group rides for all paces and to build a community. If you are interested in promoting this, please volunteer. We want to create an environment where more people feel comfortable in attending group trainings. The responsibility of the lead will include selecting the route, organizing the group on the morning of the ride, providing the necessary information about the specific ride, arranging a sweeper, and, of course, creating a group training atmosphere. If you have any additional questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dates: May 22, June 26, July 24, August 28, September 25
Pace: 13-17 mph on flat. Slower on hills.
Start Time: 8:30 AM.
Start Location: Varies
Additional Information: No Drop. Must be comfortable riding in traffic on open roads.
Additional information on each ride will be posted in the Club Forum and Google Group.
If you're interested in coordinating a swimming, biking, or running event please contact Claudia Blackburn at email@example.com.
