PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The New Triathlete Program (NTP) is designed for those brand-new to multisport. NTP is an 18 week structured training program led by dedicated DC Triathlon Club volunteers that offers information and support to help individuals complete their first triathlon. The overall structure of the program is based on racing a triathlon which takes place in the late May / early June time frame. The goal race will offer both Sprint and International (Olympic) distance options, allowing all of the NTP participants in the class to train for and support each other at the same race regardless of their chosen race distance. For more detailed information, please see the NTP Information Page »

The Olympic Distance Program (ODP) is designed to help triathletes with previous race experience to get faster. The program offers two different training plans so... whether you're looking to go from the back of the pack to the middle of the pack, from the middle of the pack to the front of the pack, or from fast to even faster... this program will help you achieve your short course race goals.   ODP Information Page »

The Half Ironman Program (HIP) is designed to take people who have a few triathlons under their belt (minimum of at least one Olympic/International distance triathlon) to the next level up in racing distance: the Half Ironman Triathlon. The program offers three different levels of training accommodating those who are just hoping to cross the finish line to those who are seasoned, competitive athletes. The clinic schedule for the program is based on racing in the club's featured goal race for the year, but the training plan can be adjusted to fit alternative Half Ironman goal races. For more detailed information, please see the HIP Information Page »

The Ironman Program (IMP) is designed for triathletes who have the desire to go long and compete in the ultimate triathlon distance: the Ironman. The program offers two different levels of training to meet the needs of every person trying to attempt this distance: from those just hoping to cross the finish line to those who are looking to improve their times. The clinic schedule for the program is based on racing in the club's featured goal race for the year, but the training plan can be adjusted to fit alternative Ironman goal races. For more detailed information, please see the IMP Information Page »

The Masters Swim Program (MSP) is geared specifically toward triathlon swimming. The program will provide triathletes (new or veteran) with the skills necessary to excel in the open water. The program offers experienced coaching instruction to enchance stroke efficiency and improve open water techniques. Overall, this program hopes to build the confidence, endurance, and speed of the swimmers in the open water. However, this is not a learn-to-swim program; it is assumed that this is not someone's first time in the pool. For more detailed information, please see the MSP Information Page »

The Off-Season Spin Program (OSP) is a 10 week heart-rate based designed to increase your baseline fitness for the upcoming triathlon season. The program takes place during the winter months of the triathlon off-season (January to March). There are two course offerings: the beginner / intermediate session is designed for Sprint/Olympic/Half Iron distance athletes.  The intermediate / advanced course is geared toward more experienced athletes, specifically those planning to race the half or full iron distance in the upcoming season. For more detailed information, please see the OSP Information Page »

The DC Triathlon Club / Snapple Elite Team is the result of a partnership formed between the DC Triathlon Club and the Snapple Triathlon Team. The mission of the DC Triathlon Club / Snapple Team is to develop the competitive athletes that are currently members of either the DC Triathlon Club or the Snapple Club. We strive to provide opportunities for everyone from the new athlete to elite. Team members are expected to be active members in the Club and foster a competitive drive among the general Club. While the application process is open to all, we anticipate that these athletes have consistently placed in the top of their age group and overall category in the past year. For more detailed information, please see the Elite Team Information Page »
