Tell us about yourself: I’m a first generation American who grew up in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. I moved to the D.C. area in 2000, a year after I graduated from law school. I completed my first half marathon and marathon in 2007 and my first sprint and Olympic distance triathlons in 2008 and joined the DC Tri Club shortly thereafter. Since then I have completed 8 IRONMAN events. I’ve served on the DCTC board the summer of 2014 first as the membership director and more recently as the race director.

How did you get involved with Triathlon? It was always on my bucket list. But I finally did it after running my first triathlon… when a boy I liked said he was training for one. I decided to sign up, too. True story.

How did you get involved with DC Tri Club? After completing my first triathlons I wanted to meet other people to learn about the sport and have folks to train with.

What is your favorite of the disciplines? Least favorite? Cycling. Swimming (although it is my strongest of the events… training is so boring).

Favorite race or racing experience? Running down the finishers’ chute at an IM. Nothing like it.

Goal race? This year, IM Boulder.

Favorite workout? My favorite part of any workout is finishing!

Favorite post race/training indulgence? Coke. Fully loaded. and District Taco.

What do you enjoy doing outside of triathlon? Sleeping. Drinking wine.

Any words of wisdom? If you put in the time to train, you can do this!
