Author Talk with Russell Newell: IronDad Life
Join us for an author talk with Russell Newell. We’ll be discussing his hot-off-the-press memoir: “IronDad Life: A Year of Bad Decisions and Questionable Motives—What I Learned on the Quest to Conquer Ironman Lake Placid” (2021) (240 pages). There will be plenty of Q&A time to ask Russell about racing Lace Placid, juggling triathlon training with family life and a full-time job, the book writing experience, and his next adventures.
Competing in triathlons is difficult for the pros — and they’re competing in their prime when triathlon training is their full-time occupation. Most triathletes still have to “adult” while triathlon training, which includes working a full-time job, taking care of children, and managing a household, all while dealing with a body reminding you that you’re not in your 20s anymore. In “IronDad Life,” Russell brings a realistic, personal, and humorous perspective to adulting while triathlon training.
The author talk is open to all and there’s no requirement to have finished reading the book. RSVP for Zoom details.
