It’s a great way to practice open water skills\, get comfortable with the energy of a group start\, and build confidence for the season ahead. \nCrossing Currents will be setting up a mock swim race to help us get those starting line vibes. Choose from a 400 or 600 meter loop to be timed\, rest in between rounds\, and then try to beat the previous time on the second round. \nTentative schedule:\n8:30 – 9:15 check-in\n9:30-9:45 warmup\n9:50 1st round timed distance of choice\n10:40 2nd round timed distance of choice \nStay around afterwards if you would like to go to brunch. \nIf you would like to participate\, you will need to register for the Sunday Open Water Session on May 17 with Crossing Currents. Remember to login to your Crossing Currents account or create a Crossing Currents account if you don’t have one in order to save 10% on the swim and other events. Please see the Redeem Discounts page on our website for info on how to create an account that is associated with the club. \nYou will need a swim buoy. Remember to bring a swim buoy. There will be a handful to borrow if you forget. \nIf you are new to Crossing Currents:\n1. Best place to park is at the ball field @ 109 Meadow Road\, Riva\, MD\n2. After you park\, check-in at the clubhouse @ 100 Orchard Road\, Riva\, MD\n3. Then from the clubhouse\, walk down to the beach @ 206 Park Rd\, Riva\, MD \nParking is limited so if you can\, please carpool! \nDon’t feel like swimming? We are looking for some volunteers to help with registration and timing. Please email vp@dctriclub.org if you would like to help.\n– For registration\, you can help check-off names and mark your fellow swimmers. If you would like to only help with registration\, you can still swim\n– For timing\, you can help with recording the times \nWhether you’re new to open water or a seasoned racer\, this is a fun way to train together and prepare for upcoming races.
