Have you ever run a race where your friends are staffing the aid station? Then you know what kind of pick-me-up it is to see them out there supporting you. Now is your chance to return the kindness and work the club's aid station on the run course! Not only that, you'll be entered into the drawing for a free entry into the soldout Nations Triathlon. Plus all the free water and poweraid you can drink! On top of that, the aid station is only open until noon, so you'll have all afternoon to go out and celebrate your friends accomplishments.
Every year we supply volunteers to both the DC Triathlon and Nations Triathlon, and in return the organizers support our club with tons of free swag and financial donations. This is why we can have all the great brick-nics and training races that we do, and still keep the membership dues as low as they are. Don't be a free-loader, volunteer!
Sign up here and be sure to select water stop and enter DC Tri Club so we can keep track of how many volunteers we have. We need at least 10 more, so if you're racing, get your friends to volunteer as well!
I'll be working the 4-7pm shift for packet pick up on Saturday. Stop bye and say 'Hi'. It takes a lot of support this on and this is one of own home races.
I signed up for the Friday afternoon packet pick up. Hopefully it won't tucker me out for the race itself. :D
I just signed up for the water stop. My first time helping out with a race. Hopefully the good juju will help me at Eagleman.
In for packet pick up Sat 12:30-4:30 :)
big thanks to all of you. Looking forward to seeing you out there.
In as bike marshal. And at convention center.
Maybe have a big post-race brunch for all racers and vols afterwards?
We're still short on volunteers. Please get the word out that we need several more volunteers for our water stop. Ask your friends, family, fellow athletes. Register at
and send me an email at
so I can also keep track and get the directions to them.
BTW, our stop is the only one with gel, so we could use a couple extra hands!
I'll be there for packet pickup Sat 4-7pm.
Again, thanks everyone that will be out there on Sunday. I'll try to use real words instead of "hyeaaaaadeeeceeeetriiiiiiiiiiiauuunnnnngghhh" as I'm stumbling by the water stations. Anything should be loosely translated as "thanks" on raceday.
Looks like all of the cool kids will be there on Sat between 4-7 ... or someone has some photos of you all.
In at the same bat time and bat channel.
I stand corrected as I will now be at the transition area with bike set up and body marking. See everyone then.
In for convention center shift Friday 5-8 and Saturday 4-7.
GO DC TRI!
Nobody sent me the memo about the cool kids working 4-7. I'm working 12:30 - 4:30!
If anyone is still looking for something to volunteer for, the club is setting up our tent at the expo on both days from open to close and we need at least one warm body manning (or wo-manning) the tent at all times. Shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or respond to this thread if you are looking to fill some time in between volunteer shifts on Friday or Saturday or just want to help be the face of DC Tri Club at the expo for a period of time. Ill follow up with more details. We'll be selling memberships and some limited gear options so we need some responsible individuals who can handle merchandise and money.
DCT Partnership "Guy"
@Tania - we still need help 4-7pm. You'd be welcome to stay through that shift too! :-)
Okay, count me in! I always wanted to be with the cool kids! :-)
See you folks on Sat.
Carrie: email me at email@example.com.
Tania .. I've mispoken. My time slot is 12:30-4:30. This means that all of the cool kids are doing it that time period. All of the people who hate their mothers are doing it from 4-7.
There for the 12:30-4:30 body marking/bike shift tomorrow. See everyone then.
