Will be at Georgetown at 8:30 to ride.
See everyone else there.
Nice to see the group grow considerably in size from last week, on a gusty but sunny spring day.
Agreed, good seeing everyone today. The wind and gusts were practically nothing today compared to last week I'd say.
I'm out next week but see y'all at Columbia brick-nic the following Sat!
What time is the Saturday ride starting this week?
Can't ride this weekend, but can anyone talk about what's the road condition? Did they finish paving MacArthur and what's the pothole situation like?
It's paved. Potholes somewhat better than after last year's also-cold winter.
I am out for this week's ride but it should be starting at the regular time. All of the details can be found on the first post of this thread.
And I second Ed's assessment of the road quality. The paving is done and nice but there are some potholes that can really sneak up on you if you aren't paying attention. I hit one pretty hard last week that didn't get called out.
I am planning to join the ride at Georgetown. I will probably go 15 or 16 mph. Is regular time 8:00 am at Georgetown or 8:30?
Regular time is 8:30 in Georgetown. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
A small number of us from the Capitol Hill group plan on doing the 40 mile ride starting at Eastern Market. We will likely be 'C' pace, but will be bringing cue sheets so we don't slow the main group down.
I will join from Georgetown, riding a B pace to the BP and back.
Simba: Taking the baby trailer with you?....
...Might recommend a snack and a drink in the sun-drenched Gtown atrium of Dean & Deluca's afterwards.
Hi XanderIV and moserd,
My husband and I are going to join you tomorrow at Eastern Market for the C pace group. This is our first group ride and we appreciate the opportunity.
I would like to meet up at the Eastern market location on 4/18. It will be my 1st group ride as well.I'm fairly new to the area where would I go and what time will you the pack be by. I am most likely with the C group. Also, where can I find cue sheets for the ride.
I'm going out to Pierce Mill from Canal Park (Navy Yard) at 730am sharp. Then there's a 40 mile loop. Lemme know if anyone wants to meet.
In from GTown, most likely with the B group! See you all tomorrow!
TBoo: See post 1 on this thread.
Group grew for 3rd straight week on summer-like day. Best of all, riders self-assembled, as in biochemistry, into C, B, and A groups.
Suggest at start of each ride at Georgetown calling out C B A into groups of c. 15-17, 18-20, 20 plus mph; would give B and most especially C riders confidence they have prople to ride with.
(Most improved rider--Azad).
Thanks for sharing Ed! That's great that we had multiple paces out this week. I like Ed's idea of calling out paces at both start locations, so people know they're not alone! If you're a B or C rider, make sure to let others know on the forum that you're headed out. And if you ride under 15mph, you're not alone, so definitely post on the forum and connect with others too!
