There is a club Swim Meet 101 tomorrow morning, and we all know that swimming >cycling. So I will be at the pool ;) Have fun riding though, the weather looks nice.
Steph, et al,
I'm gonna spin around Hains Point in the afternoon (Sunday 2/24) around 2:30/3ish.
All are welcome to join me for what will hopefully be decent, but perhaps windy, weather.
You might see me out there too...
Anyone riding long on Saturday? I'm looking at 4 hours or so. Open to different routes, but thinking maybe the Belgian Loop or to White's Ferry.
Sounds like "White Chocolate" may head to White's Ferry, then drink his stash of Belgian beer afterwards. :)
Is it too early to start thinking about a Saturday ride?
I am new to DC Tri and this will hopefully be my first ride with y'all...
Looking to get in about 2:30 with hills... any takers?
Where would be a good meet up & time? (sorry if i didn't read something some where else on the site...) :-)
I think the details are on page one of this thread, but the main meeting spot is at Wisconsin/M St in Georgetown in the PNC bank parking lot.
During the winter we meet at 8:00.
The Cap. Hill folks meet at 8th/Penn at 7:40 then roll through Georgetown.
More details are HERE if you're interested. The summer times are still up.
See you out there!

Trevor is right, check out that first post and then if you still have questions, let us know.
It's about that time of year when we start getting new riders to the group. We're always happy to have new faces. To make sure that everyone has a good experience, we usually try and get people to post their intended speed/distance goals. That way you don't show up for a ride wanting to go 100 miles at 16 mph while the rest of the group plans on going 40 miles at 24 mph. I always hate it when new folks get dropped on their first ride on account of poor communication on our part. Last year we typically had good variety of pace groups out on the rides and I'm sure that will improve this year.
I plan to be there this week... the weather looks beautiful. I'm hoping to ride to the T or 2.5-3 hours at 20-22 mph until I get dropped due to poor fitness. If only I could blame it on poor communication. And since you asked nicely, we'll throw in some good bonus hills for you.
"I'm hoping to ride to the T or 2.5-3 hours at 20-22 mph until I get dropped due to poor fitness. "
Shit triathletes say ;)
I will try to join the group in Georgetown. Probably only ride out to Great Falls/Potomac as I need to get back to Rosslyn by 10 or so.
Adam and I are planning to roll out of GT at 11:00 to the BP and back. All are welcome to join, 11:00 at M and Wisconsin.
I'm for riding at 11am.
No qualms about sleeping in and letting the temps rise a bit before hitting the road.
Randy and I will be in GT at 0800.
Change of plans for me. I have to be home a bit earlier than expected
for an appt. so a few of us are leaving cap hill at 7 and headed to the T or until it gets too cold to continue.
Steph, John or others, you want to join?
Thanks for the invite. Have other plans for Saturday. Heading to the Route One ride on Sunday.
Looking forward to getting out to the T again soon though.
I had to be back early anyways, so I'll roll with Travis and crew from the Hill at 7.
I will plan on rolling down from Bethesda at 7 and link up with you on as you head up MacAthur.
Is a group still leaving from the georgetown pnc at 8am or is that now 7am? Thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble...
Hey everyone! I'm new to DC tri. Is anyone planning on riding tomorrow from georgetown? I would love to join you!
Welcome to the club! Very glad to have you joining us for the Saturday ride.
I'm doing 2 hours, easy pace. Clip in at 8am from the parking lot. Should be warm, so arm coolers and sleeveless jersey?
