Also, there is a good rest stop in Poolesville to refuel with some Chocolate Milk. @BNelson #gotwhitechocolatemilk? #ging4lyfe #gingtwins
You should also have some chocolate milk after the ride for recovery purposes.
I'm in for 50-60 miles tomorrow, 20-22 mph avg.
Any schedule departure adjustments, or are we leaving g-town at normal time?
There's also a B group ride starting from Glen Echo, echo at 8. Should be a ton of clubbers out there on a gorgeous day.
Reminder: 7:10am start time at Capitol Hill with G-town pick-up at 7:30.
I am more of a C pace, 16 mph. Will that work for the sat ride?
Hi, new to the club and would like to join the ride. My pace is between 16 and 17, will that work?
Re slower paced riders, keep your eyes open for B rides like last week's. This coming week many folks will be in Williamsburg for a tri. But feel free to post your own ride & pace anytime.
I'm going to try to ride out to Sugarloaf this Saturday. Does anyone have a cue sheet or map for the way to get there?
Octavio: Check out the original post in this thread... there is a route map there. I can't tell at a glance if it includes the climb but it is very obvious. One road takes you up and down.
Jessie: Now that you are tuned in to this thread, you'll see who's posting what ride goals. Most weeks there will definitely people in your pace group but like Ed said, it may be a smaller than usual crew this week due to a couple of conflicting events. Thanks for posting your pace/distance. It makes it much easier to get rolling with a new group.
I'll be away for a couple of more weekends. Looking forward to getting back out there. Good luck to everyone who is racing or riding the Gran Fondo this weekend!
Since the b ride from glen echo sounds like it might skip this week, I'm in for a b/b- 50-60 miler this weekend leaving from g-town at 7:30. Any takers?
Can anyone share the cue sheet for the weekly Sat ride?
Jody, I may be looking for a ride tomorrow morning, will be able to confirm later today. Can you email me at hamburger1971 at gmail dot com to let me know where you'll start or if you've found any other takers? I was thinking about riding a lttle longer but could always ride down to G'Town to add distance.
Jody, Jeff, Octavio et al:
Planning to head to Sugarloaf (which from G'town should be about 85 mi) -- leaving G'town at 7:30 -- A-/B+ pace (18-20 ish) ... would love to have company (and by "company" I mean someone to pull me up the hills ...)
p.s. I'll have a cue sheet
Hi Jody, et al.,
New to the club here and looking forward to meeting some new faces. I am interested in meeting for the Georgetown ride if you all are still doing it. Looking for a B/B- pace and 50-60 miles should do it for me (sorry Dan, can't do Sugarloaf as I need to do an hour long run thereafter). Btw, if anyone wants to join in on that action, let me know.
Dan, Sorry-- Won't be going to Sugarloaf or dragging you up those hills. For the folks interested in a B/B- minus ride, though, I'll be in G-town at 7:30. We can go to the T and turn around, or tack on a few more miles from the T towards Poolesville if folks are up for it. Looking forward to it!
Any chance I can talk a few folks into starting earlier tomorrow? Say roll out at 6:30a? I need to get back and would like to get a ride in to the T and back.
Jody: Baring "snooze" issues, I'll join you.
