I will be there at 6 AM for 90 minutes of generally steady pace... and some intervals if my legs can handle it!
I'll be down at 6:30 to ride with the group
I think Craig's planning 3-4 long loops, steady but quick
Is HP still open for riding? Or have they closed it down for the fireworks?
Good question! I will check it out tonight and post later.
Oh no! If HP is closed on Thursday morning, anyone want to do a ride somewhere else early in the day?
Well, I'm there now, and it's open. And puddles but no flooding. - T Jefferson
Yep, another spy told me it was open. I'm starting at 6:00 and planning on 90 minutes of pain, 5x10' threshold intervals plus a run.
My spy suggested it will close Wednesday PM.
See you out there!
Does anyone know if Hains Point has re-opened post-fireworks, or know how long they generally take to do that? They must need to time to break their stuff down.
I had a new member ask about the Tues/Thurs Hains Point rides, and it's been a while since the last post here.
Is this workout still active or has it wound down for the season?
yep, there's still a group of 5 - 10 of us out there but the group is slowly fading in numbers with the later sunrise and cooler temps.
Brady - Great! Are you still starting at 6:30am, or has it been pushed back?
hello guys i was wonder if is going to be a ride at hains pt today tusday at 630pm. usally is post it in the calendar but is not today so thats why i was wonder.
Hi Maynor - The Hains Point sunset rides (here) have ended for the season. We hope to get them rolling again in the spring with longer daylight hours and warmer weather.
I see thanks so much for the info.
I realize it's too cold currently for the HP rides, but any idea when they are starting up again?
It's always a soft combination of it getting warmer and having enough daylight at 6:30. I'm sure others are an anxious as I am to ride more outdoors.
As folks see warm Tuesday's and Thursdays in the forecast (I realize it might be a little while), please post so folks can gather.
The Hains Point morning rides usually start in late March/early April. The ride season is usually dictated more by sunlight and by Park Service closings (like 4th of July week) than by temperature. I'm sure the A ride (The Train) and A- ride (The Poursuivant) will be back in full force as soon as sunlight permits! I may even make another attempt to lead the ill-fated occasional D- ride a day or two before big races, for those who know they shouldn't do too much before a race but still can't go a day without either swimming, biking, or running. But I would also advise most D- ride participants to just sleep in and rest up for the race instead...
