I moved to DC last summer, after spending the previous 5 years living in a Philly suburb, training for triathlon solo day after day (after day...). Shortly after I moved here, I checked out a DC Tri happy hour and decided it was worth a shot to join the club – so I did.
Turns out, that was a really good decision. There’s something about training camaraderie that works for me, because 2013 has been my best year ever. I have set a PR in EVERY SINGLE DISTANCE I have raced. No exaggeration. I am absolutely amazed at the improvements I’ve seen.
Check out these stats:
10k – 3:25 PR
10 mile – 4:05 PR, then an additional 3:06 PR
13.1 mile – 7:46 PR
26.2 – TBD at MCM in two weeks!
Oly tri – 2:41 PR (and a first place overall female finish)
70.3 tri – 45:30 PR (and a second place AG finish)
140.6 tri – 83:17 PR
Thank you, thank you, DC Tri. Until last year I thought my fastest years were behind me, but I now know that I still have lots of room to improve. I can’t wait for 2014!
if you add all those shaved-off minutes up... well that's a lot of minutes.
