Hi, I would recommend looking into a one of the MTI training plans.  I found 4 that might work for you and there is a “Our stuff works. Guaranteed.”

Post Rehab Leg Injury Training Plan

    Running Improvement Plan

    Off-Season Strength for Endurance Athletes

    Bodyweight Foundation

I cast my ballot.  I hope the new Board can consider bringing back monthly happy hours rather than replacing them with member meetings, tailgates, tri prom.  In my opinion, monthly happy hours serve separate purpose and serve different types of members relative to the other events.  For example, time commitment for HH could be minimum of 30-60 mins whereas member meetings require 60 to 90 mins and there’s more lecturing + merchant partner promo talk than socialization at member meetings.

I also ask that the new Board re-consider the prior Board decision to eliminate Program-specific Facebook pages, such as NTP, OSP, ODP pages.  While the new website looks pretty, the functionality underneath the prettiness is severely lacking.  For example, having to login to post or reply to a thread and fight through the CAPTCHA “examination” is too time-consuming.  Even searching for THIS thread required me to use the Search function, because scrolling through the forum subject title would not show this thread.  In contrast, I’m already logged in on Facebook, twitter, instagram on my phone.

Finally, I ask that the Board Meeting minutes be timely posted.  The website only has meeting minutes up to August 2017.

I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, because I am thoroughly grateful for the service of each and every Board member, and I have very much enjoyed participating in the events that you put a lot of time and effort into organizing like the Splash and Dash, Tri Prom, Deep Creek Camping weekend.  I also know you have the club’s interest at heart.  But at the end of the day, I think there are many things the club can improve on and I hope the Board can focus less on “quantity” and “club branding”, and focus more on membership “quality” and “relationships”.  One example of quantity is a 10% discount at various running/bike partner stores means nothing when Amazon still has a cheaper price.  For reasons that some of you may already know, I did not run for the Board due to upcoming life circumstances and that’s why I’m posting my thoughts here.

Spirit of DC Tri: Joyce Jones, cos lbvs, she’s cheery AF!

Angela, there should be a big group out there this weekend.  95% of people who go to the Saturday rides either do not read, or write on the forum.  I was the only one who wrote on the forum last week and  25+ club members ended up showed up.

Looking at the forecast now.  Saturday should be wetsuit legal, but not likely wetsuit legal for Sunday.

I put it laying down on the non-derailleur side.  After laying it down, make sure you don’t put suitcases or bags on top of the derailleur.

    Hey,

We closed the BBQ link and refunded those who prepaid.  The BBQ is switching to a la carte, so we can bypass Eventbrite fees.  You just order on your own bill at the restaurant, and we’ll have a private room in the back of the restaurant to dine together.  This will be in the newsletter we send out tonight.

It’ll be a close call, but I think water temp will be right at 77 degrees, just enough to be wetsuit legal.  It’s warm enough to not wear one if you don’t want to.

The weather is supposed to cool down later this week, and morning temps when they take the temperature are usually cooler.

Hey, I can fit 2 in my car, but I’m planning to stay both Friday and Saturday night.  Leaving Friday around 4pm. Let me know if that’s of any interest.

I’ll be there with my biking buddy at 7:30am tomorrow.  Planning to head to the BP, see how I feel, and maybe to the T.

I would put the blame on the Lodging Association.  VTS-MTS might have a say, but they don’t control when the Lodging Association changes its mind.  Greg could have been a little nicer in his response though.

I would look into the feasibility of filing a class action against the Association and the Bay Shore Campground from a lawyer in your resident state, alleging fraud, collusion, and coercion, among other things.

    Hey Steven:

We’re about the same size.  You can borrow mine, Xterra Vortex.  It’s not in perfect shape (4 years old), but still works and I just raced in it two weeks ago.    Private message me and you can come pick up late tonight, or anytime Friday.

Please take a look at the link for watch recommendations. DC Rainmaker probably is the most definitive website for gear advice.
