+1 Smiley. Best bike fit hands down.
In answer to your question…..there’s a tent campground in Taylors Island which is about 35-45 minutes away. It’s attached to a mobile home park. It’s a bit sketchy, imho.
Now you didn’t ask but… RU really ready to camp in possibly rain/cold after spending $750 for the race and countless hours in training? I stayed about five minutes from the starting line in a really great AirBNB room for $100. There are still options for substantially less than that available now.
Whatever you do — good luck and have fun!
Bryan, out of curiosity, is there any data on the percentage that posting traffic has risen or fallen since the change to the new website? I’ve found it difficult to adjust, but that’s probably just me.
This was my first tri ever and looking back — knowing what I know now — there could not have a better way to start my tri career. It’s low-key and friendly, while being professional at the same time. Highly recommended!
One of the longest threads on the old DCTri website was “Best Bike Fit Hands Down” and was all about Smiley. There were over 50 replies from satisfied club members.
One thing about Smiley instead of a bike shop — if he recommends something new (e.g. different aerobars, handlebars with a different drop, etc.) there is no economic motivation to his suggestion.
SWEET! Thanks to everyone who made this happen.
