Hi, thanks! I really was just asking for a friend not for me. I don’t quite get why it would be a safety issue to have say, a 20-year-old man racing in a 26-year-old man’s wave, but I take it from your answers it’s not allowed! Cool. Will pass that along.

Can a Half Ironman registered racer compete in a later wave so they’re in same wave as a friend or relative?

If a middle-of-pack triathlete who knows they’re not going to medal wanted to wear buoyancy shorts during Eagleman or another Half Iron, is that OK?

I skipped the Conte ride and rode later in the day at Hains Point. But Hillary Hertler went to Conte’s and said it was “windy. Really windy.” I think Margaret Moral rode it, too.

we’re doing the conte’s ride tomorrow if anyone wants to join. 20 miles — at least. meet at 8:10a at 7121 leesburg pike in falls church. wheels up 8:30a. it’s hilly. with breakfast afterward.

I booked a camp site. It can accommodate more people if anyone wants to toss a tent down.

Do you have any recommendations for a good tri watch?

So far, triathlete friends have recommended the Garmin 935 or the Fenix 5.
