I was there last saturday for 7:30 Georgetown (my first ride) and will be there tomorrow morning as well. There was a good group last weekend that did variable distances. Unless anything changed or specific to tomorrow, I assume the ride is happening.
Congratulations! That sounds amazing. Great read btw, thanks for posting!
Re-posting here in DC Tri forum
My wife clicked some of the NTP/DC Tri members on the Jamestown International race on saturday. Below is the link to my google drive with full resolution sizes (~7MB). Feel free to download them.

There was a timing mat around 3.4 mile on the olympic run course
I did the olympic on saturday. My Garmin showed 5.9, uploaded the same GPX file to strava and strava showed 6.2. the actual course I believe was 6.2 and parts of it were in trails so I believe the trees could have blocked the GPS pretty significantly.
Here is the NOAA link for Jamestown

Water Temp at 7 AM (when the swim wave starts) is right around at 77.7 (more than air temperature at that time). Btw 78.1 and 83.9, wetsuit is allowed but not eligible for awards and will be ranked separately. I dont know what can change between now and saturday weather wise.
Found my wetsuit. Another member at the OWS secured it and found my strava post (through strava group activity) and reached out to me.
Thanks
Thank you!
I am near Vienna/Fairfax metro and can give someone a ride with their bike. PM me. Cheers!
It’s a great deal. Glad i was able to help!!
920 xt does not have accelerometer so it relies on GPS for elevation. Fenix has Skiing mode (uses accelerometer) and it counts no. of floors so if you use it day-to-day (I cant wear 920 xt to work :-D) and care about no. of floors then fenix is the way to go.
Optical HR is a nice to have. Based on my experience and reading some reviews, it is off by 10 bpm at peak and fails terribly during strength workouts (lifting etc.,). Optical HR resting heart rate is close to accurate
