I’m following you to Jorge! I use both Garmin and Strava as well. Seems like Strava might be more inclusive since it’s not brand specific. I hope everyone is managing okay. Staying safe and staying sane are now both a challenge!

I am interested in hearing thoughts on compression socks. Do you train in them? If so, what is the noticeable benefit? I imagine they slow down a transition so does anyone wear them during a race?

I am wondering how much attention we should give to the Training Peaks Performance Metrics. Specifically, should we pay attention if the Form number is too low or too high? If yes, what is a good target number for this metric?

Does anyone else out there end up with what feels like a bad cold after swimming? Sore throat, runny sneezy nose and possibly a low grade fever? I just started using a nose plug which seems to help, but I am still getting sick. I am going to start taking a benedryl before each workout. Looking for more solutions…ideas anyone?

Hi Justin, per foot is my understanding as well, so 180 is my garmin setting. I am struggling to keep this rate but am starting to feel the benefit holistically with arm rythm and foot placement all coming together. Then I get tired and it all falls apart…practice needed!

As I was zippering during the workout last night I was wondering how the zipper drill differs from the fingertip drag. The drill is very helpful as I find my elbows are now positioning for a much better recovery, but I must be missing something. Are the two drills the same? If not, what is the significant difference?

I have noticed some of these protein powders mix well and some are clumpy. They vary in protein and sugar levels as well. Does anyone have a preferred brand/type? What do I look for in a protein powder if I don’t want a clumpy drink?

Laurie Penland started the topic Stress fracture on its way… in the forum Olympic Distance Program (ODP) for Paid Participants 6 years, 3 months ago
Hi all, I am feeling the beginnings of a stress fracture in the ball of my left foot. I went through this 10 years ago and don’t want to go through it again. Has anyone experienced this and managed to avoid a full-on fracture? My running shoes are 300+ miles so I just ordered some new ones. Any suggestions?
