Amanda, did you get my thorough response to Hope’s question? Please know Orange Theory while IM training? This is not the time and place for HIIT. Leave that for the off season. I shared this at the kick off meeting and will repeat it again. HIIT has of a HR component that we just can’t factor into the periodization for IM training. And the focus on strength training has nothing to do with elevating your HR. Strength those gluts and core, even if that means you need to hire a personal trainer to ensure it happens. Or just reread why strength training must happen (my previous post) and hopefully this will motivate you to do it (daily) on your own. It just needs to happen to minimize your risk for injury (without the elevation of HR to make it happen)!
