Injuries are no fun, but I will say that there is usually a silver lining in there, somewhere. You’ve put in a bunch of work already, and as long as you stay positive and listen to your doc, you probably won’t find yourself “falling behind” nearly as much as you think you will. A bit of rest and recovery, and you’ll be chomping at the bit to get back to it when you’re able/ready to!
Plus, for those of you with significant others, I’ve also found injury time to be an exceptional opportunity to earn some spousal approval credits. After all, I’ve got lots of energy, time I would be using for training, and the chance to tackle house projects and chores, or take that spontaneous weekend away that was on the back burner due to my training.
Bottom line — look for that silver lining and you’ll be back at it in no time!
