“We want to thank you – sincerely and deeply – for your support of the Hains Point 100. Over the past seven years, we have ridden in wind, rain, cold and bananas-weird warmth, but one thing has remained the same – the overwhelming support of #BikeDC for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association’s Women & Bicycles Program from people like you.

We’ll be at it again on Sunday, December 22 down at Hains Point, riding in circles. We hope you can make it! Please visit (http://www.HainsPoint100.com) to let us know you’ll be there. And, if you can’t be there, you can still support from afar!

In other news, the rumors are true: alas, this will be the final Hains Point 100. While the WABA Women & Bicycles program will remain near and dear to our hearts, the event has run its natural course, and it’s time to step aside. This event has grown to a size that is hard to coordinate on our own, and it’s time to trust that the support we’ve raised over the years can be sustained with the help of others. So for us, it’s time to draw this event to a close, and we will do all we can to make sure this beloved #BikeDC community tradition ends on a high note.

We continue to deeply believe that getting more women on bikes will make DC a better place for everyone. So, with all that said – we hope you can join us for one more loopdie-do around Hains Point on December 22nd. We already have a huge line-up of supporters that have donated some amazing door prizes and more! Follow us on FB & Twitter for all the updates of what we’ll have.

As always, this is not a formal event – we’re just getting together on a chilly Sunday to ride our bikes in a circle and have some fun! All levels of riders are welcome!

Visit (http://www.HainsPoint100.com) for more details, to register, and to donate!

And, from the bottom of our hearts, this event could not have turned into what it did without your love, laughter and support.

    Cheers,
    Megan Jones and Mark Blacknell”
