    I’ve started training for SwimRun Richmond and seems like everyone races with a swim paddle and I have never used them before.  I read it’s easy to get hurt if I’m using them incorrectly or too much.  I also read that during the 3.5 mile swim, using the paddles really tires out the shoulders and I should build some upper body strength.

    Is there any advice on what strength training workouts are good for using paddles? Thanks!
