I typically do crossing currents in April and then Wave one in the summer – but not sure about swimming with Wave One this year after the helicopter / plane crash and the sewage spill in the Potomac! I also did Sandy Point a few times last year with the DC tri ODP.

I’d look into ear plugs, a big cap that covers ears (I use whale caps), and making sure to eat and drink well before the swim.
