DESCRIPTION:Join WaveOne for the Washington’s Crossing swim across the Potomac River beginning at National Harbor. Swim over to the center portion of the river parallel to the Wilson Bridge. The course is 1.25 miles and can be swum twice for a 2.5 mile total swim. \n\n\nLocation: 165 Water Street\, National Harbor\, MD 20745\n – (Meet at the North Cove/Commercial Pier at National Harbor)\nDate: Saturday\, July 12\, 2025\nStart Time: 7.00 am\nRegistration closes: Saturday\, July 12\, 2025 at 7:00 AM\nOrganized by: WaveOne Open Water\nEvent website: www.waveoneopenwater.com\nRegistration page: https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=383630\n\nJoining the 2025 Washington’s Crossing swim? Let us know that you’re coming and connect with your other DC Tri Club members! \nFrom the event organizer: \nTHE SWIM \nTwo distances are available\, single crossing to the mid point of the river\, at 1.25 miles\, and the double crossing\, at 2.5 miles described above. Meet at the North Cove/Commercial Pier at National Harbor\, MD 20745. Check in opens at 7:00AM. The 2.5 mile wave will meet at 7:45 AM for the safety briefing and start upon its conclusion. The 1.25 mile wave will meet at 8:00AM for the safety briefing and start upon its conclusion. The water temperature range is 72-78F. Wetsuits will be allowed up to 82F. The swim will occur during an outcoming low tide which translates to a downstream cross current. \nSUPPORT \nChase boats will provide support for the governmental agencies for the perimeter of the swim course. Life guards in kayakers will provide additional swimmer support. \nAll ages are welcome. You must be a competent open water swimmer to enter this event.
