Kelly tried several sports growing up as a military brat, eventually settling on swimming and running. She was nowhere near the front of the pack in either, but had fun and continued to do both through grad school, occasionally running and 5k or 10k with friends and family. After becoming a bike commuter, she realized there were races that did all three of these sports and signed up for her first triathlon with Team in Training. After that first race, she was hooked! Kelly has raced sprint through IM distances. One of her favorite parts of the sport, though, is the fun supportive community, and she enjoys mentoring tri newbies.

Goals for 2018: Crush Boston, IM PR, cross off three more states (long term goal: complete a triathlon in every state)

Favorite thing when not swimming, biking, or running: traveling, cooking and eating
Favorite foods: ice cream, cheese
Fun Fact: I have a PhD in Chemistry
