2016 USAT Age Group National Championships-Sprint

August 14, 2016

Top 10 Reasons to Race 2016 Age Group Nationals:

10. This year’s race features a new venue in Omaha’s Levi Carter Park after a three-year stint in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Plus, the Olympic-Distance Nationals run course will turn around in TD Ameritrade Park, home of the College World Series, and you may even appear on the stadium’s video board!

9. Speaking of the College World Series, you’ll be competing in a national sports hub that often hosts top athletes in other sports, including U.S. Olympic swimmers who will have earned a trip to Rio 2016 at the Olympic Trials in Omaha.

8. You’ll swim in two states! The races may start and end in Nebraska, but with the park right along the state line, your swim will take you into Iowa before you head to T1.

7. Want your fans to track you back home? New this year, two friends or family members can receive text messages when you cross timing mats for updates on your race status in real time. Plus, we’ll have a live stream with all the action from Omaha.

6. Offers from USA Triathlon partners means one of the best goodie bags in the country. You’ll get a 2XU shirt and BOCO hat, plus access to an awesome expo with Normatec recovery stations and much more.

5. Want to hear from one of the best elite athletes in triathlon? IRONMAN World Champion Leanda Cave will be making a special appearance during the weekend as the official Olympic-Distance Nationals race starter, plus she’ll be giving an athlete talk after the rules briefing and handing out finisher medals.

4. Something for everyone: Olympic-Distance National Championships, Sprint Nationals (including the all-new beginner wave), as well as a pre-race 5k/1-mile run on Friday. Compete in one or more races over the weekend for an added challenge.

3. Red carpets aren’t just for award shows. You’ll have a red carpet experience as you run to the finish line on race day.

2. Earn a spot to represent the U.S. at a world championship event. Top finishers in both Olympic-Distance and Sprint Nationals will have an opportunity to compete on USA Triathlon’s Team USA in 2017 when the ITU Age-Group Triathlon World Championships head to Rotterdam, Netherlands.

1. Bragging rights! You will be part of the most competitive field in sprint and Olympic-distance triathlon, with top athletes from all 50 states competing for a national title, a spot on Team USA and of course, a PR.
