The 2018-2019 Winter Marathon/Half Marathon Group is back!
Join us to stay motivated to run in those colds months! First run will be Nov 3.
During the polar vortex winter of 2013-2014, some track regulars based in downtown DC decided to get together on the weekends for winter marathon training and it was seriously motivating!
For the 2018-2019 season, group will start at 9am and will head out from a different location each week. The first run of the plan will be Saturday November 3, but runners are welcome to join mid-plan. They will follow a training plan that will have you ready for a marathon/half-marathon by March. The plan isn’t strict – people can join for the full run or a part of it, whatever suits them. The goal is to have a few different pace groups each week. Regardless of pace, we will all start and finish together – when the final runner is done, we all head off for hot drinks and food (preferably cake).
Communication will be via the winter marathon training group Facebook Group. Visit this address and ask to join. That’s where the group will post the training plans, pics, and post an event invite with the meeting place for each Saturday long run.
