Katie Hosteny, Program Assistant

Katie joined the triathlon world in 2000 and after a few hiatuses jumped steadily back into the sport in 2021 when she joined the DC Triathlon Club. Katie participated in the Half Ironman Program and successfully completed the goal race (Eagleman 70.3) and North Carolina 70.3 in 2022. She now has her eyes set on a full – Ironman Chattanooga! When she’s not swimming, biking or running she can be found on the sidelines cheering on her fellow athletes, on the kickball field or the soccer pitch. She is extremely excited to be a Co-Lead for the OHI Programs for 2024!

Megan Johnson, Program Assistant

Megan completed her first triathlon in 2012 in Kenya. With minimal training and riding a steel bike, she was passed by a farmer hauling wheat on his bike – he was wearing flip flops! In 2015 she graduated from NTP and now bikes faster than most farmers.

Megan has completed dozens of Sprint and Olympic distance races, 9 half ironmans and 1 full Ironman. Most of her long distance races have been outside of the U.S. Megan comes from a swimming background and previously coached youth age swimmers. She has organized triathlons in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Islamabad, Pakistan.

Megan believes in the power of triathlon to create community. She has a passion for helping others find their potential in sport and believes in the importance of just trying.
