      • The path around the lake is 2.5 miles long (and hilly).
    • For the ‘Nic:
      • The 'Nic will start around 11:30 AM. Lots of tasty treats (burgers, dogs, veggie burgers, fixings) will all be provided by the club, along with some fabulous volunteers to cook it all up. The rest (sides, desserts, etc.) is up to you!
      • Please help out by bringing something according to your last name:

        • Dv-Ha: Dessert
        • He-La: Vegetarian option - side dish
        • Le-Mo: Fruit

Nation's BrickNic / OWS - August 12 and 13

This event will be a great chance for those of you racing The Nation’s Triathlon for the first time to get some advice from those who have raced it in the past.  We will continue the fun on Sunday with WaveOne HarborFest on Sunday!

Nations Bricknic - Saturday, August 12

Do some biking, a little running, some kayaking/SUPing and a whole lot of fun socializing with other DC Tri Club members and their families. This event will be a great chance for those of you racing The Nation’s Triathlon for the first time to get some advice from those who have raced it in the past.  After the workout we will have a picnic and enjoying some snacks and kayaking on the river!

Time:  7:30am - 12:30pm  (meet up at 7:30 in the parking lot for the ride)

Where: Thompson's Boat Center - 2900 Virginia Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20037 (same location as last year, but different from all previous years!!)

Registration:  Event is free (less you choice to kayak/SUP, then pay through the link below).  Please register through eventbrite so we can know how many people to expect.  Register here

What to bring: Other then yourself and your gear, bring a snack/drink to share!  The Club with also provide sandwiches.

Schedule/Route:

Ride Clip-in at 7:30 am - Gear watch will begin at 7 am. The Saturday weekly training ride will roll through by the parking area. Follow the normal Saturday ride route and do whatever distance you desire. For details on the route, visit the Sat weekly ride forum thread on the club website. Alternatively, for those that want a more casual ride, the suggested route is the Capitol Cresent/Beach Dr/Rock Creek Trail loop. SAG will not be provided.
Run - Feel free to run right after the ride, instead of the ride or anytime you wish. The run will be an out-and-back of your desired distance on the Capital Crescent Trail (paved) or the C&O Towpath (unpaved).

Volunteers: We’re looking for volunteers to help organize set-up, gear watch, and clean-up. Email training@dctriclub.org if you can help out!!

 

Nation's OWS - Sunday, August 13

Sunday, Aug 13 is the WaveOne Harborfest!!  Please visit the WaveOne site to register for the event and find out all the detail and and don’t forget our DC Tri Club Discount!  DC Tri Club will be there supporting you and if people are interested, we can organize an informal run following the swim.  In addition, we will have some snacks available post swim!

Distances:
750 Meters - Sprint Swim
1.2 Miles - DC Tri Club Half Iron Swim
2.4 Miles - The Iron Swim
5K - Half Marathon Swim

TIME:
7:00AM Swim check in opens
8:00 AM Mandatory safety meeting for all swimmers
8:15AM Swim starts: wave order begins with 5K, 2.4, 1.2 and 750m approximately 5 minutes apart

Northern Virginia Bricknic

Join us for the DC Tri Club's final, fun packed, bricknic of the year in Northern VA.

Time: 8am - 12:00pm  (meet up at 7:50am for the ride/gear watch will start at 7:30am)

Where: Belle Haven Park, Virginia (just south of old town Alexandria)

Registration:  Event is free.  Please register through eventbrite so we can know how many people to expect.  Register here

D-G: Dessert
H-J: Vegetarian option - side dish
