I purchased a ticket for the Williamsburg camping weekend, looking forward to it. I have a few newbie questions: what is included with the price of the ticket? Do I need to reserve camping space on my own, or did the club secure a campground for the group? I have seen that there are rides with SAG support, do we need to sign up for those…[Read more]

I was supposed to race Rock Hall. Last weekend after my long run I came down with an infection (not sure if related to training; could be, but who knows). I’ve had a very tough early week (pain, fever) and have been able to resume training in the last few days, but I’ve taken it easy. This is new territory for me, as I rarely get sick, and it’s…[Read more]

First of all, a serious warning. This is LONG, so if you don’t have the time, the patience or could care less about other people’s races I suggest you move on. I write these for myself mostly, because I like reading them after some time passes and they provide me with good feedback and insight into the race. Last year when I did ODP I started…[Read more]

Hi Angela,
I’m interested in what coach AJ has to say about this, since I am doing Kinetic International in just a couple of weeks. But I know I would skip those workouts. A race is a race, and you will be spent after it. I don’t see myself taking any advantage from piling up additional workouts on top of that effort (higher risk of injury too).…[Read more]

As many people, I started with Gatorade, the kind you can buy at a gas station or grocery store. I don’t dislike it per se, but changed from this type of drink to other less sugary options. I do think Gatorade has a role (more on that below). I have settled on Skratch and like it a lot (lemon + lime flavor). It’s not sugary at all, and contains…[Read more]

I’ll be there. Did this last year (shorter version then) and it is a great ride imho.
