Glad I got out the door!

Race: Jingle All the Way 10k

If it weren’t for all the folks who were planning to come out, I have to say, I probably would have rolled over when my alarm went off and slept in. But as usual, once I got out there, it wasn’t nearly as bad as anticipated and I was glad I was successful getting out the door. It is the hardest part, isn’t it?

Goal: 1) Time: get as close as possible to October’s PR while still finishing under 38. 2) Pace: Go out reasonably quick in the first mile, but then dial it back quick and try for a steadier split around 6 mins or just under–for a kick at the end that I didn’t have last time.

Mission accomplished. I’m happy that my fitness from the season is lasting a little longer than expected. The only thing I’ve done in 3 weeks since the turkey trot was the Sunday RCP runs. And as said on the forum, it was awesome having the DC Tri tent and so many members out there. Fun day, if cold and drizzling the whole time!
