Slides from tonight’s clinic are up on the class 2 page!
Make sure you rest, hydrate and taper these next 2 weeks. Let me know if you need any advice on anything.
August 16, 2017 at 10:28 pm #13483miatajParticipantTransition clinic is on! See you guys tomorrow at 6pm.
There should be parking spots down by the end at Hains Point. There’s actually a parking lot by the playground, and then one on either side. So you should be able to get a close spot.
August 16, 2017 at 4:53 pm #13480miatajParticipantHey team – I have not heard from anyone yet on their ability to attend the transition clinic tomorrow.
Please let me know by responding to the forum (or email if you can’t respond by forum for some reason), if you’re able to attend. If I don’t hear from anyone, I will assume no one can make it, and will reschedule the clinic.
August 15, 2017 at 7:09 am #13471miatajParticipantREMINDER – Bike clinic is tonight at 6pm at Trek Bicycles in Arlington. Please make every effort to be there, as this is another DC Tri club partner that is putting this clinic on, exclusively for you all, at no charge to the club at all. Let’s show our support and thanks appropriately, and learn some valuable biking tips at the same time. See you tonight!

In addition, because it’s a group training plan that is applied to so many individuals, you may have a recovery day built in when you don’t feel like you personally need it – and that’s ok. Listen to your body, and you can always make slight modifications.
Let me know if I can clarify anything else! Thanks for posting to the group forum 🙂
July 30, 2017 at 10:38 pm #13302miatajParticipantODPers – For those that came to the pool this morning, I am very sorry I did not let you know further in advance that I would not be able to attend. I had a family emergency come up this morning, and had no access to a network to communicate my inability to arrive at the pool. Everyone is ok, but it was sudden, and I feel terribly that I could not let you know before traveling to the venue. I truly hope I didn’t cause too much inconvenience to anyone.I am working with Catholic University to identify an alternate date for the clinic and will announce the date as soon as possible! Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you’d like to discuss the matter further. I’m happy to listen to and hopefully address any concerns you have about your swim stroke and technique, but more importantly, your time that was taken up.I appreciate your understanding! I’ll be in touch as soon as I have an alternative date ready.June 30, 2017 at 12:07 pm #12833miatajParticipantJune 27, 2017 at 8:26 am #12804miatajParticipantDon’t forget! Run clinic tonight at 6:30pm at the Potomac River Running store in Arlington (4501 Fairfax Drive, Arlington). See you then!
June 26, 2017 at 11:55 am #12796miatajParticipantCycle Ops and Kinetic trainers have always been considered reliable brands, and they have a range of prices depending on the type you want. Fluid trainers are the most quiet, while wind and magnetic trainers are a bit louder. There are others on the market that are more expensive or have features that hook up via bluetooth to some programs you can train with (i.e. TrainerRoad, Zwift).
June 15, 2017 at 4:37 pm #12704miatajParticipantThanks for sharing this insight Danilo!
June 8, 2017 at 10:51 am #12585miatajParticipantODPers – good news! I was able to get the room for a bit later so you all have some extra time to tackle traffic.
The kickoff meeting will begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday, June 13th! The calendar has been updated. Apologies for any confusion.
June 5, 2017 at 12:28 pm #12536miatajParticipantThank you for pointing this out!
The meeting will start at 5:15pm on 6/13 in the 2nd floor meeting room of the Arlington public library. I was not able to get the meeting room reservation for later in the day unfortunately so it will be an early start.
See you then!
May 31, 2017 at 1:15 pm #12382miatajParticipantYes! Transition clinic is still on for today. Feel free to print a copy of the transition clinic notes that I posted last week, but you don’t need to have them with you. We’ll go through everything.
We’ll meet near the tip of Hains Point, in the grass near the playgrounds. We will start just after 6pm, and conclude around 7:30pm. See you guys in a few hours.
May 23, 2017 at 1:17 pm #12079miatajParticipantGiven the delay of the transition clinic to next week, I have posted the transition clinic handout and some videos that you may find helpful to our ODP page. Please note that you do NOT have to follow the instructions for these kinds of transitions exactly. You are not required to have your shoes already snapped into your pedals, nor do you need to perform some of the advanced options they propose. Practice transitions, and do what’s comfortable for you!
In fact, I’d like each of you to aim to practice your transitions at least 2x for 30 minutes each, before your race! You’ll thank me later 🙂
May 23, 2017 at 10:49 am #12075miatajParticipantWe’re on for next Wednesday, May 31st – same time and location. The updated date is on the ODP calendar. See you all then and thanks for your flexibility!
