Thanks, everyone! We ended up at Craft 31 in Williamsburg on Friday evening and had a nice experience. Posting that recommendation here as well for future forum searchers. 🙂 To David’s point — thanks, David! — we went to Virginia Beer Co post-race and really enjoyed their Deadbolt IPAs.
Hi, there! I’m headed to the Jamestown Triathlon this weekend with fellow 2019 NTPer Melani Robinson. The race is in Williamsburg, Virginia. We are staying nearby in Lanexa, VA. I’d love to hear from folks who’ve raced in this area, any recommendations for dinner Friday, the night before our race? Neither of us have any dietary restrictions. Thanks!
Hi there, Ambassadors! I hope you don’t mind a question to ya’ll posted here.
I completed my first tri season this year thanks to NTP, and I just signed up for Ironman Maine 70.3 2020 — in my hometown! I’m so freakin’ excited.
That race is on August 30, and I’m eager to have other races to look forward to next spring/summer. And, that’s why…[Read more]

Soooooo, I impulse purchased a new bike today — it was a killer deal, I’m a sucker, etc. I just realized that the wheels are thru axles not quick release. I must have asked a million questions in the shop but I failed to ask that one. How awful is this going to be when I get a flat? This store doesn’t do returns on bikes though its been…[Read more]

(I wasn’t joking about getting all my questions in before the forum disappears. :-))
I spent this season on my jamis Citizen 1 comfort hybrid having taken to heart the advice that one should not buy a new bike during their first season.
I’d like to get a new bike for next season, and I’m totally unsure of what I want. For exa…[Read more]

Hard to believe that our goal race is only 10 days away now!
I’m beginning to think about how to manage my training post-goal race toward my next Olympic tri on September 28 — both so I survive it and so that I mitigate my risk of injury — and also because I want to get all my questions in before this forum disappears. 🙂
I have four…[Read more]

Thanks, Michael. Do you recommend a wetsuit for this race, last weekend of September? I haven’t needed one yet this season, and I won’t be using one for the goal race. (Swimming in a wetsuit is not my favorite…)

Hi there! I’m looking into Waterman’s Tri as my first post-goal-race race. 🙂 Any chance the club has a discount code for that race?

Hi NTPers! I live in Petworth north of Grant Circle and I work in Silver Spring. I’ve attempted to find trails near my home and office to do bike workouts (15-20 miles) without the hassle of traffic but there are so many closed trails right now. Parts of Rock Creek Park Trail, Georgetown Branch Trail, Sligo, and the Anacostia Trail are all closed…[Read more]
