    Hi all,

I have a car and can take two extra people and bikes (might be tight with gear, but we can make it work).  Leaving from the Capitol Hill area, preferably early-mid afternoon to avoid traffic.  Text or email: dinafinkel@gmail.com or (612) 306-5100.

I’m driving from Capitol Hill (near Lincoln Park) and I’m pretty sure I can take two other people.  I just need to verify that my bike rack can handle three bikes (I’m NTP, bear with me).  E-mail me at dinafinkel@gmail.com if you’d like a ride.

Amanda and Katherine – sorry to have dropped the thread about squeezing in training for Cherry Blossom.  I did zero training on a 2 week vacation, and then got sick when I returned home, so my “training” for the cherry blossom has been very unstructured.  I’m just planning on finishing rather than racing/shooting for a particular goal time.  I’ve been running three times a week, so switching out one of the bike/swims for an additional run.  Twice a week, I run 4, and then will increase my mileage for the “long” run on the weekends (I’m up to 6.5 at this point).  I’m out of town this weekend, but interested in a long(ish) run the weekend before the CB!

Hi – this might be a silly question (I missed the orientation meeting for a work trip).  The handout about the training plan says that the strength training is not included on the schedule, however, the first phase of the workout plan for the Olympic distances does list strength training about twice a week.  I’m assuming that this is the strength training I should be doing (and using the pdfs of the lunges/planks/etc.), and not that I should be adding in a few more lifting sessions a week?

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

You may already know this, but sometimes lanes aren’t available to the public even when the pool is open.  You might want to check this schedule and/or call ahead of time to make sure you’ll actually be able to swim.

I also live near Lincoln Park and would be down for morning runs/swims (I can confirm the pool is hopping on Tuesday mornings at 6:45!).  I’m at dinafinkel@gmail.com.  I’m also running the cherry blossom 10 miler, so I will be need to increase my mileage from the training plans (I’m signed up for the Olympic distance). I’m typically a 10-10:30 minute pace.  I am going on vacation next week, so I’ll probably be a more engaged participant after Presidents’ Day weekend.

Where does the Navy Yard run group meet?

I’d be interested in the evening swims!
