    Oooh!

    • Capitol Hill (basically run around the Capitol)
    • Meridian Park (run around the park and add some stair workouts by running thru the park too)
    • Calvert Hill (run up and down Rock Creek trail to Calvert Street NW)
    • Massachusetts Ave – more long rather than steep (from Dupont Circle, run up and down Mass and admire all the embassies)
    • Porter, Tilden and Wilson Blvd are also killer hills but they’re more boring than the options above.

And the Wednesday Track Workout does hills once a month.

Hi Glen!  I stayed at the Powhatan last year as well and was so surprised at how HUGE and convenient it was!  (Our town house even had an empty sunroom for our cherished bikes!)  I’d recommend you post on the DCTri site and on the Rev3 Williamsburg facebook page that you’re open to sharing lodging and I bet you’d get a lot of takers.  Let me know if you have any other ideas or if there’s anything else I can do.

Also, a lot of athletes REALLY like camping for that race.  The campsite is RIGHT on the race site, so you can practically roll out of your sleeping bag and into the swim.  There’s some more info here, but let me know if you have any questions.  http://www.jamescitycountyva.gov/2769/Camping

I am definitely not an expert in all things bike / tech, but if you are using your own bike on a trainer, you can get a cheap (like $25?) bicycle computer (like a tiny cateye) and as long as it is wireless (most are, these days), you can mount the sensor on your back wheel and crank and it’ll tell you your speed/cadence/mileage.  I like to keep my cadence to around 90RPM and adjust the resistance from there depending on how hard your peloton workout is telling you to go.  (I’m sure folks have many different opinions/advice, but I think that’s a really simple rule of thumb.)

If you have a multisport garmin, you can also buy just the sensor that will transmit to your garmin.

I might be interested!  I hate dark winter AMs.  I’ll message you.

Bumping because today is the last day for early bird pricing!  Sign up for Rev3 Quassy and Rev3 Williamsburg today for the best prices!  No club discount with early bird pricing but make sure to note that you’re in the DC Tri Club to get the club perks (if enough club members register) like racking all together, club branded Boco hat, club porta potty, etc.

Quassy: Sunday, June 3rd.  Olympic and Half Distance and hopefully a kids race.  The water is amazing (clear) and the hills are KILLER (perfect way to start your season).  http://rev3tri.com/quassy/registration/

Williamsburg: Sprint & Kids on Saturday July 7th and Oly and Half on Sunday July 8th.  FAST, FLAT and FUN.  And you can camp on the race site.  I think around 80 club members went this year!  http://rev3tri.com/williamsburg/registration/

Hi!  Rita Alexander wants them!  (She’s travelling so can’t get on the forum right now, but she asked me to post for her.)

The code was just sent to the Niagara Falls folks and should be good to go by the end of the day.  Message me if not!

    Should be a great race!
