Job well done, Heidi, and great report. Sounds like you paced yourself well and learned a lot.
Juan, great race and, as usual, great report. Congrats on your first 70.3!
Great writeup, Juan. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on the course—and with such detail! I won’t have had a chance to see the course before the race so I found this very helpful.
Did you get a sense of the parking situation? Asking for a logistically challenged friend.
I raced at Rev3 Quassy this past weekend. We lucked out with the weather—it was perfect—and I was happy with my race execution. I went in with a plan that mirrored what I’d trained for, including nutrition, power, and pace, pushed through the hard parts, and set a personal best for this (difficult) course. If you’re interested in more details, I wrote about it here.
We haven’t had many hot days this season, but I’d love to hear some thoughts on heat acclimation and related preparation for Williamsburg.
Great, detailed writeup, Juan. It sounds like you hit a lot of your goals and have some good takeaways for next time. Congrats on a great race!
Thanks for the input @heidibatch, @bdwaud, and @berto100k!
I’ve started attending Masters sessions at Wilson for the past week. For anyone who’s one the fence, all the insight above has been very helpful! It does help to speak up, as has been mentioned, and I’ve already gotten some great feedback on my stroke. I’ve found the workouts pretty challenging so far but expect my endurance will catch up soon.
