Here is the line up for Peasantman weekend.  Hope to see you there!

Saturday, May 5, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Lake Anna

Below is the clinic schedule of events on Saturday, May 6th…   Our base of operations will be in the food/concession area of Lake Anna.  If you have any questions, that’s the place to go.  Packet pickup will also take place near the concession area.   We will either have folks or signs to point you in the right direction.

9:00 AM 10:00 AM – Transition Clinic.  Gather by the grassy area where the transition area is.  A map of the transition area is near the bottom of the Athlete’s Guide.  We will cover how to properly set up your transition area so as to not get bitch slapped by the athlete next to you.  We will also show you the PeasantMan transition area layout so that you don’t run out where everyone is running in.  This will familiarize you with all of the entrance/exit points (i.e., bike in/bike out, run in/run out, swim in/swim out).  We will also have a USAT official on hand to go over some common USAT rules violations and how to avoid them.

10:15 AM – 11:15 PM – Basic Bike Maintenance Clinic.  This clinic will take place at the same spot as the transition clinic.  We’re giving you all a 15 minutes pee break.  Please don’t overhydrate and be late for the clinic.  The clinic cover basic bike maintenance routines.  These include things that you can easily do at home and things that you need to do/check on before a race.

11:45 AM – 12:45 PM Run Clinic.  We are bringing in a professional coach, AJ Morrison, from Multisport In Motion (https://www.facebook.com/ MultisportInMotion) to give a clinic on strategies to optimize your run performance.   The clinic will cover various aspects of running including proper running form to minimize your risk of injury, ideal pacing for both the bike and run, appropriate strength training to maximize speed and power, as well as other strategies for a more efficient, effective run execution.   Coach AJ has been coaching athletes of all levels for over a decade, from newbies to athletes racing at the Championship qualifying level.  AJ coaches on a full time basis and her athletes include single sport athletes (i.e., pure runners, swimmers, and cyclists) and triathletes.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Nutrition Clinic.  Coach AJ will also give a clinic on sports nutrition to discuss pre/post workout nutrition, as well as necessary nutrition for all triathlon race distances.  In addition, she will address the distinct differences between racing long course racing versus short course racing.  Many athletes overlook the fourth discipline of triathlon.  To optimize your training and racing, come learn the strategies to elevate your success.

All of the above clinics are FREE.  The below open water swim clinic is $20.  You *MUST* register for this.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM– Open Water Swim Clinic.  Check-in begins at 2:00 PM.  We will have a table setup near the base of operations and pavilion.  You won’t miss it.  If you do, just ask around.  You must register for this clinic.  The registration url is below.
