Wow!  Thank you Brian for the helpful overview.  Most impressively, you learned a great deal from your tune up HIM (Eagleman) and made the appropriate adjustments for your Ironman.  This is what it is all about! I also know you worked hard this season on your weakness (swim), which greatly benefited you when they made the change to shorten the swim portion.  Changes can really wreck havoc on your mental state.

It sounds like you made good improvements on your nutrition (!), as well as pacing (!!). While you might have been able to push a little harder on the bike, it really is a delicate balance.  Just a little too hard will sacrifice your run.  Thus you are better to be a little more conservative than a little too aggressive.  Given your outcome, I think you hit the nail on the head.

Awesome work out there!  Thank you for the feedback concerning your experience, as well as the training program.  We can’t wait to see what you have planned for 2019!  Now, rest up and enjoy some well deserved down time.
