As for testing during recovery week, we already discussed that starting out the training program with the testing was likely not where most participant’s conditioning was at. Instead I created the training plan so that you had one build cycle under your belt before taking on the testing.
And the whole point of the testing is to do it when you are rested. So a recovery week is often a good time to take it on since the volume is low. In addition, one of the best ways to aid the recovery process is some shorter but harder efforts. So it’s a perfect time to do your testing. Then you will have your new HR zones to use when you start your next build cycle.
