Thank you for asking the question! If you do small amounts on frequent intervals, it allows your stomach to digest while you are exercising. This minimizes GI issues. And yes, your Gatorade does count towards this total. All calories whether eaten or drank!
Also, sip on your hydration the same way. If you gulp your body can’t absorb it so then you end up having to urinate more often. Just sip on regular intervals as this is also easier on your GI system.
