Your bike set up sounds productive. My only question is how does the iwatch capture your heart rate data? If it is by a wrist/optical heart rate monitor built into the watch, this is very unreliable and inaccurate. If it’s by a chest heart rate monitor, then this is much more accurate and reliable.
Depending on how much data you want to review and analyze, the Garmin is much more powerful. For basic metrics, the iwatch is likely fine.
How you capture your heart rate is the key here for whatever watch/monitor you are using.
