For Stage 3, let’s head over to Anacostia to show some love to the other side of the city! This is a modified version of the WABA cider ride except in reverse where we will take the Anacostia Riverwalk trail to College Park and then the Rhode Island Trolley Trail on the way back to Brookland.
Alas there is no cider but if you’d like to turn this into a mead ride, stop by Maryland Meadworks at the turn onto the NW Branch Trail back to Brookland. They are giving free tastings (very carefully) and you can also pick up a growler to go.
Watch out for:
– the bridge underpasses
– detour when you get to Riverdale Community Park. Follow the detour signs and they will take you back to the trail
– on NW Branch Trail, at the first street crossing take a left. This will be 38th St.
Start: Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, by the Roller Skating Pavilion
Finish: 8th and Kearney St, by Dance Place in Brookland
Since the finish is in Brookland, if you live around Cap Hill or points south you can take the Metropolitan Branch Trail back.
– No group rides. Please ride solo or in a pair with good social distance.
– Remember to upload your ride by next Wednesday, April 29
