Cool that the IRONMAN brand has decided to revive the Nation’s Triathlon. Along with other classic Olympic-distance races around the world, including Sao Paulo and London. The D.C. race will move the controversial swim, which was so often cancelled, to Arlington’s long-planned natatorium near Crystal City. Amazon will co-sponsor the event from its new headquarters there. Part of the bike course will be on the GW Parkway west of Key Bridge, and the rest in D.C. And ending the run at Nationals Park seems a stroke of genius. (It’s thought that the ballclub’s Ruuning Presidents will accompany the finishers.) Registration for the September race opens this Monday. Diamond in the Rough and Peasantman have yet to confirm the rumor that IM will acquire them too. Stay tuned.
Hello, any updates on what happened with IM taking over Nations? Just curious, as your update back in April sounded promising 🙂
The post was an April Fool’s joke. 🙂
We have not received any word that Nation’s will be back. We had heard rumors that someone (not Ironman) bought the rights to the race, but nothing official has been announced nor do we have any idea who that someone might be. Sadly. We’d love to have a hometown race again.

Bryan, that was cool. I fell for an April fools joke four months later! And it looks like I was the only one, so I should get a trophy or something.
You were not the only one to be fooled by that spoof.
Tho this story is completely true:
Just trying to confirm, Nation’s Tri is not happening in any shape or form in 2019?
Anyone?
Thanks, Jon
No, but it will return in 2020, with the swim leg slated to be held in the reflecting pools by the Lincoln Memorial.
now that’s a deep fake response that fools me even less his time
