Sorry Mo, with 2 votes for summer and 1 for winter, 0710/0730 it is.  See y’all at G’town tomorrow.
Kelly, I’m doing about 35-40 miles so a loop after the BP and then back the usual way.

Hey y’all, I haven’t been in a while but think I’m gonna be there this Sat.
I’m seeing highs for the next 4 Sat’s in the low to mid 70’s.  Shall we switch to winter hours starting this Sat to have more light to get to Cap Hill/G’town and also get an extra hour to sleep in?  Vote, by chiming in here…
    winter = 810am(Cap Hill)/830(G’town), or (keeping) summer = 710am(Cap Hill)/730(G’town) ??

I’m sure the usual ride will be on tomorrow but if anyone is interested in riding SkyMass SUNDAY, June 24th, plan is to clip in at 8am from Skyline HS.  PM me for more details or see you there and then Sunday!
    Cheers

Good job chiming in. 😉  710 EM / 730 G’town starting tomorrow until further notice!
PS I’m out the next two Sat’s so have fun and ride safely!

Pablo, how long, time wise, are you riding?

The regulars should chime with their preference.  Looking at the Highs for the next 4 Sat’s…
    91, 81, 79, 77.  65 deg@7am, 66 deg @8am tomorrow.
If anyone going plans or riding 4 and half hours or longer tomorrow, I’d recommend switching to summer hours starting tomorrow.  Otherwise, I’d say keep it for now.
It gets confusing switching it back and forth so once summer hours kick in, they stay until the fall.

Hey Joseph, I fully expect that there will be a group ride at the 810(EM)/830(G’town) as usual.
I’m heading down to Lake Anna for more open roads to join Adrianna and others for my planned longest ride of the year so far.  All are welcome to join us down there for an 815am clip-in.  Peasantman activities will be going on Sat/Sun.
If anyone wants/needs more deets or wants to carpool, pm me or see ya down there!
    Cheers

Yup, 8:10/8:30 am tomorrow.  Hopefully, we’ll be peeling off the arm warmers at the BP.
See y’all at the PNC lot waiting for the Cap Hill train!

Hey Mo, Skyline is very hilly but you can handle it.  I’m planning on doing about 50 miles, out to Elk Wallow Gap Wayside and back. I estimate this will take me a little over 3 hours as it’s about 5600 ft of gain.
Here’s more info on riding Skyline and here’s the elevation profile for the “Northern Section”…

    Great ride last week everyone!
There will be a crew doing the weekly Sat ride again, 810/830, but I wanted to invite y’all to join me in riding Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park as it’s “Free Entrance Days in the National Parks“!

    Who: y’all
What: Ride out and back on Skyline Drive so pretty much, as far/long as you want.  Take pictures and enjoy the views while getting in a fun, rewarding and challenging ride.
Where: Meet at Skyline High School, 151 Skyline Vista Dr, Front Royal, VA 22630
Plenty of free parking and some nearby trails for those that want to brick afterwards.
When: Clip in from the parking lot at 9am.  NOAA currently says 49º at 9am and 55º at 1pm with very little wind.
Why: So many reasons like this but because it’s fun! ;-p

After the ride, join the gang in going to either Spelunkers or Apple House to chow down some well earned lunch!

This forum serves as a good tool for carpooling. 😉
Cheers an see ya out there!

Ryan, thanks for kicking off this Sat’s ride on the early side.  This ride falls under the leadership of the director of Club training last I checked, which is why I didn’t post till now as to not step on any toes or complicate matters.  Allison, feel free to chime in when you get a chance but it seems like the annual Spring “reminder” post is needed for this Sat’s ride given the forecast is FINALLY being favorable.

I’ll try and make this simple:
    1) Read the first post of this forum (link) paying attention to <b>Required </b>and <b>General Rules</b>.  Please know, print or save the route offline to your phone if needed.  We regroup at the BP; know where that is. 😉
    2) We’ll officially <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>start at 8:10 (Capitol Hill) and 8:30 (Georgetown) until further notice</span> which will be May or June if we’re lucky.  Note the extended forecast calls for the next three Sat’s, after this one, to be about 15 deg cooler than this Sat.  We’ll switch to 7:10/7:30 once the real heat and humidity are here.  You’ll know!
    3) Please obey all traffic laws.  Safety is key and it makes the Club and us look bad when people blow thru red lights and stop signs.  Don’t be that guy/gal.

Post here if you’ve looked thru the first post of this thread that explains everything and still have questions.
Cheers and see ya Sat in Georgetown.  SOOO looking fwd to the moderate temps!!

Anyone interested in riding at 9am from PNC G’town Sat?  I’d be willing to push it to 930 if that’s the preference.
Thinking around 2.5 hrs at ~17 mph.
