  • Wish this ad was for me…alas a good buddy from the Eastern Shore snagged a slot in the IM70.3 Championships in Chattanooga at Eagleman.  He’s very interested in sharing a ride with someone heading down there for the race – I’m trying to help out by posting this for him as my finishing time at Eagleman wasn’t going to get me a slot no matter how…[Read more]

  • I’m up for it on the 20th.  Anyone up for it tomorrow??

I did IMNC last Fall.  In general, I really enjoyed the race – the community there is great.  If you can get a small group and rent a house on Wrightsville Beach near the swim start, that’s an early win.  The swim is fast – in the channel with a nice push assist – I did my full IM swim in like 1:05!  My friends doing the half had very fast swi…[Read more]

  • I have a Cateye  Stealth 10 bike computer – it’s GPS enabled, provides speed, distance, time and uploads to Training Peaks.  No mount, but new one is available on line for 6 bucks.  I have the charging cable and the software is all downloadable.   Asking 50 bucks or will gladly accept interesting offers in trade.

You can never have too many bikes!  Seriously, I love my Fuji roadie and my QR Seduza TT bikes – the Seduza has taken me through many triathlons and could continue to do so…the song of Di2 is really strong tho….

  • globetrotterjon replied to the topic PeasantMan Triathlon in the forum Race News 7 years ago

I hope I can make it this year…I opened my season with IM 70.3 Galveston…frankly, it wasn’t nearly as fun as Peasantman…$75 for Peasantman versus $350 bucks (plus airfare, bike shipment, meals…) for an IM branded race?  Oh wait, I got a tech t-shirt and a pathetic bag too small for my two month old to use for anything other than her…[Read more]

  • …and yet another recommendation for Smiley.  I spent three sessions with him getting my bike (which I thought fit well) and me ready for Ironman North Carolina last fall.  Simply put, it was the best money I spent on my bike outside the bike itself.  Smiley spends hours ensuring that your bike is fitted to you – well beyond some of the other so…[Read more]
