Actually, you may leave Sandy Point for a bike ride as I did so back in June. I am not sure about running and there is much of an area for running. Some of us are heading to Cambridge so the same weekend (Sept. 18-19) as which would have been IMMD.
Open water swimming?!? This big dog used to do his ows at Sandy Point in April in prep for IM-CDA (now defunct). There is nothing like open water swimming.
It used to be a ride because January was Bike Month in the NCC challenge. Now, it looks like January will be Swim Month. If so, I’m going to try and get a group to meet at the PGSLC around 10am for some laps.
There will be supported rides on the course on Sundays, July 30th, August 13th & 27th. They start at Cambridge-South Dorchester HS.
I’ll be able to give a ride to 1-3 people, but only one bike. I’m volunteering for the Olympic on Saturday.
Tomorrow I’m heading out to Sandy Point to scout things out for the first time this year. I’m doing the Bay Swim on June 11th and want to test out my wetsuit. The water temps are about 66 (from the Capital Gazette) which is still wetsuit legal.
Hi Kate – That all sounds good about picking up to 4x/week. I’ll probably start that up in late April. I also plan to work up to 1-2 10k swims in May along with some OWS at Sandy Point. At $300, this might be one and done for me. Should be a great event! -Hugh
Ed – I’d be interested. What time are you looking to start and how much yardage?
