Hi Lauren, I am doing the DitR race this year but have done the Williamsburg Olympic probably the last 5 years and its a great fun course. The bike is about as fast abnd flat as it gets. Long stretches coming back in the tall pines that is straigth as the arrow goes. The only hills really is the bridge over and back the Chickahomony river wh…[Read more]

Hi Rebecca–What kind of brakes are on the bike? Caliper rim brakes or disc brakes?

Hi Rebecca, I’m the NTP Bike lead. Did you get a chance to attend (or read) any of the Bike 101 Clinic material? If you send me pictures of your bike I may be able to tell you whether it is worth fixing/overalling or getting another bike instead. Let me know how you’d like to proceed. Glenn Thomas 202-460-0913

Hey Chelsey, I’ve raced Williamsburg several times with the Club and they usually go to a family italian resturant–can’t remember the name. This year I’m going to dine in colonial Williamsburg at the King’s Arm. A little pricey but the historic menu is pretty fantastic. Godspeed in your race.

Hi Brian, I did GSw olympic like in 2015. Water was waist deep most of the way out n back. There was a good bit of grass to swim through at the start but I don’t remember touching bottom with hands while swimming. Hope this helps. Also surprisingly both the ride and run were pretty hilly. glen

Oh we’ ve been training for the heat of the Jersey shore. I hear they cut the Olympics back to a sprint. Raced there in 2015 with heat index well over 105 so I’m not sure why the change now. Only 3 people from DCTC so doubt well be raising the National Club Championship banner.

Im doing Olympic distance. Make ur decisions on distances before u start else its really hard to decide to go longer at the splits during the race when u can end ur suffering so easily. glen
